Neurostimulation
A remarkable and revolutionary treatment, neurostimulation works by blocking pain signals from traveling through the spinal cord to the brain.
A device the size of a stopwatch is placed under the skin to deliver electrical impulses to the spine, thereby blocking pain “messages” from reaching the brain. A hand-held programmer allows patients to control the electrical impulse, which replaces debilitating pain with a mild tingling sensation.
Neurostimulation can be used to treat various pain conditions.
- Chronic back and leg pain
- Complex regional pain syndrome
- Painful neuropathy
- Other difficult to treat pain conditions
